Competition Sections

With 32 different sections covering everything from cattle to cooking, poultry to photography, there is something for everyone, young and old!

Entries for most sections close Thursday, June 25 – however check the section you are interested in for individual closing dates and delivery details.

  1. Agriculture (section A)

    Nothing beats home grown produce, the snap of a fresh carrot, the sweetness of peas straight from the pod or the rich yellow colour of an egg yolk. Think you grow the best lemons in your neighbourhood? Enter them!

  6. Cattle Junior (section EJ)

    Children's Classes are to be judged in accordance with interstate conditions regarding handling of show animals. The judge's decision is final. At the steward's discretion some of the Children's Classes may be combined.

  7. Cooking Senior (section G)

    Cakes, biscuits, breads, chutneys, pickles and beer! A mouth watering array of classes awaits you in the cooking section. What are you waiting for? Get in the kitchen and cook up a storm!

  9. Craft (section H)

    Consider yourself crafty? If you work with wood, are potty about pottery, sweet at sewing or passionate about patchwork, then there’s likely to be a class in the craft section to suit your pastime.

  11. Dogs - All Breeds Championship Show (section I)

    Prized pooches walk this way! Three events to show off your clever canine and perhaps win prizes – the all breeds championship show.

  13. Horses (section K)

    Dressage, western, show jumping, led classes, rider/hack classes, harness classes and novelties make up the variety of equine events at the Alice Springs Show. Enter and put your best hoof forward!

    Calling all happy snappers, film freaks and digital devotees. If you have a passion for the perfect shot and a knack for producing original compositions why not enter your premier prints in one or more of the photography classes?

  28. Poultry (section P)

    Far from paltry the Alice Springs Show poultry section is a vibrant display of the best of domestic fowl. Classes include different breeds of chickens, ducks and turkeys. There is something for every bird lover in this section. Visit the poultry exhibits at the show and be captivated by the polyphony of cackling!
